Kabbalah is the most commonly used term for the esoteric and mystical teachings of Judaism. Kabbalah means "to receive", to receive the knowledge and wisdom of the tradition.
Integrated Kabbalistic Healing was created by Jason Shulman, who founded a school called A Society of Souls which provides an in-depth three year training in Kabbalistic Healing. This approach to healing is deeply rooted in the Jewish metaphysical path of the Kabbalah as well as depth psychology and nondualism.
Integrated Kabbalistic Healing works with the Kabbalistic Tree of Life, which is a matrix of universal qualities we humans experience. The practioner transmits, through a laying on of hands, the essence of one or more attributes from the Tree of Life for the purpose of healing or shifting into a more balanced condition.
Through this transmission, patterns of blocked energy or contractions in consciousness, are altered so that one can live more fully and effectively in the world. These disturbances of a healthy flow may currently or later cause disease.
As an example of how the practioner understands these attributes named in the Tree of Life we can look at chesed and gevurah. They can be out of balance when there is too much loving kindness (chesed) and not enough boundaries for self (gevurah). The opposite can also be true, where there is too much tightness and restriction, and the flow of kindness or self love is impeded. The practioner and the client explore these patterns until the underlying roots of the issue are apparent. This diagnostic process is a flowing interaction between the healer and client. These are just two examples of many possible ways that the attributes can show up in our lives. We are the Tree of Life itself, and like a living tree, the paths from the roots to the light go through many channels.
In choosing a particular Kabbalistic healing, we are not taking away pain or suffering - we are entering into a relationship with it. The diagnostic process then becomes a healing process because of the quality of non-judgmental, open presence that is brought to it. This way of working taps into a deeper knowing than modalities that typecast personalities and diseases.
During a healing session we will talk about various issues that you bring up from your life situation. As I listen to you, I hold the template of the Tree of Life in my consciousness. I bring all of my skills, including extrasensory perception, to the diagnostic process, so that the complexity of your being is fully received. After we’ve had time to explore your issues together, I will then, from a place of deep connection, choose to focus the work on one or more places in the Tree. I will invite you to lie down on my massage table, fully clothed, and transmit the healing to you by a laying on of hands. This allows a resonance to occur within you which helps to initiate a new level of consciousness so that old patterns of relating or being can shift rapidly.
Since every part of the Tree is in relationship with every other part, we are affecting many levels at once. Very often clients will report changes in symptoms after a healing. These changes are the result of a fundamental transformation of consciousness that is initiated between the healer, the client and the divine. Any healing work that does not include this process of transformation will ultimately not last. Kabbalistic healing is not a quick fix - it sees healing as the gateway for deep awakening to the true nature of one’s innermost Self.
